Lot 675: A Flexfit canteen of cutlery and two supplementary cased sets of flatware
This lot comprises a Flexfit canteen of cutlery and two supplementary cased sets of flatware. The main service is housed in a dark-stained wooden case with a red velvet-lined interior. The set features cream-coloured celluloid handles and consists of twelve table knives, six dessert knives, six table forks, six dessert forks, six soup spoons, six dessert spoons, and two serving spoons. Also included is a three-piece carving set comprising a carving knife, a carving fork with a guard, and a sharpening steel. Many of the knife blades retain their original protective tissue and plastic sleeves.
The first supplementary set is contained in a smaller wooden case with a yellow satin lining and comprises six fish forks with cream-coloured handles and silver-plated tines. The second supplementary set is presented in a black leatherette case with a white satin and black velvet lining, containing six all-metal pastry forks. The main canteen bears a small metal plaque marked FLEXFIT. The spoons and forks exhibit a high-lustre finish characteristic of electro-plated nickel silver (EPNS).
