Lot 681: Emma Bridgewater One Gallon Polka Dot Pattern Commemorative Earthenware Teapot
A large one-gallon earthenware teapot produced by Emma Bridgewater, featuring the signature Polka Dot pattern. The teapot is designed with a bulbous body, a wide base, a curved handle, and a matching curved spout. The decoration consists of hand-painted, multi-coloured polka dots in shades of red, blue, yellow, teal, and green set against a cream-glazed ground. The domed lid is finished with a small, circular red finial. The underside of the base features a printed commemorative backstamp in black and blue ink which reads: 21 YEARS of Emma Bridgewater, DECORATED BY HAND, MADE IN ENGLAND. This mark includes a small blue graphic of a duck, which is the specific date mark used by the pottery for the year 2006. A white auction sticker with the number 681 is currently adhered to the side of the vessel.
