Lot 688: A Set of Three Graduated Japanese Ceramic Basset Hound Figurines
A set of three graduated ceramic figurines depicting basset hounds. Each dog is modelled in a seated position with characteristic long, drooping ears and a mournful expression. The pieces are finished with a high-gloss glaze in a tricolour palette of tan and white, featuring dark brown hand-painted details to the eyes, nose, and spotted markings on the muzzles and paws. The largest figurine bears a dark script mark to the lower flank, appearing to read Japan.
