This lot comprises two pieces of mid-century art pottery produced by Carstens Tönnieshof in West Germany. The first item is a pedestal planter or bowl, model number 51-026, featuring twin loop handles at the rim. The ceramic body is finished in a glossy orange-brown glaze with incised sgraffito botanical motifs depicting stylized flowering stems. The interior, rim, and pedestal base are finished in a contrasting dark chocolate brown glaze. The base is incised with the words W. GERMANY and the model number 51-026. The second item is a single-handled jug or vase, model number 437. It features a heavily textured fat lava volcanic glaze in a buff-beige tone, punctuated by three glossy dark brown circular medallions. The flared neck and handle are finished in a matching smooth dark brown glaze. The base is incised with the model number 437/20 and W. GERMANY.
