Lot 875: A 1970s Lace Maxi Dress and a Padded Wooden Sewing Box with Haberdashery Contents
This lot comprises a vintage 1970s maxi dress and a wooden sewing box containing a variety of tools and accessories. The full-length dress is fashioned from cream-coloured floral lace over a matching lining, featuring a wide boat neckline and a high empire waistline defined by an open-work lace band. The three-quarter length sleeves are finished with double-tiered fluted ruffles. The wooden sewing box is a stool-form design with a hinged lid, which is padded and upholstered in yellow vinyl with a studded border. Internal contents include a boxed pair of Wilkinson pinking shears, Junior Model, manufactured by William Whiteley and Sons Ltd in Sheffield, England. The lot also contains a Stanley heavy-duty metal staple gun, a carded set of needles and thread spools on a heart-patterned backing, an assortment of fabric trimmings including pink fringed lace, and an embroidered pouch in original plastic packaging.
