Buyer's Premium:

An antique cutler’s tripod stool of primitive construction. The item features a thick, irregularly shaped seat slab, likely crafted from a light-coloured hardwood, showing a heavily weathered and greyed patina with visible grain. The seat is supported by three long, tapered, stake-like legs joined to the seat via through-tenons, with three circular tenon ends visible on the top surface. One of these tenons is slightly recessed. The overall form is characteristic of utilitarian country furniture such as a milking or cutler’s stool. The item bears a modern paper auction label which reads HCP Auctions South West Lot 990.
Height 45cm – 55cm, seat width 40cm.
