Lot 1076: Large Syroco Gold Gilt Rococo Revival Wall Mirror
A large mid-20th century wall mirror produced by the Syracuse Ornamental Company (Syroco). The frame is constructed from a moulded wood-pulp and resin composite and is finished with a distressed gold gilt paint. Designed in the Rococo Revival style, the frame features a prominent central shell and scroll crest at the top, embellished with small floral blossoms. The undulating borders are decorated with elaborate scrollwork and foliate motifs. The mirror plate is recessed within the deeply moulded frame. A white adhesive lot tag bearing the number 1076 is attached to the upper right section of the frame. No other maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the front of the frame or mirror plate.
