Lot 2: Two Vintage Maritime Flags including Catamaran Yacht Club Burgee and RNLI Flag
A lot comprising two vintage maritime flags. The first is a white canvas triangular burgee for the Catamaran Yacht Club, originally founded as the Catamaran Cruising Club in Kent. The flag features a black printed circular emblem containing a stylised cat’s head flanked by wavy lines above three interlocking ‘C’ shapes. It is constructed from heavyweight white canvas with a reinforced hoist edge and retains its original hoisting rope and wooden toggle. The second is a rectangular maritime flag for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). The flag has a dark navy blue field with a central appliquéd white rectangular patch. This patch features a red St George’s Cross with the red letters R, N, L, and I in the quadrants. The centre of the red cross is printed with a yellow crown above a fouled anchor. This flag also retains its original hoisting rope and wooden toggle.
