Lot 18: Vintage Ready-Can Petroleum Spirit Can and an Assortment of Workshop Tools
This lot comprises a mid-20th-century British fuel container and a portable plastic toolbox containing a variety of mechanical hand tools. The fuel can, manufactured under the Ready-Can brand, is constructed from tin-plated steel and finished in red paint. It features embossed lettering stating PETROLEUM SPIRIT, READY-CAN, and HIGHLY INFLAMMABLE, along with a top handle and a red screw cap. A handwritten paper label is affixed to the side. The toolbox is a black Rubbermaid branded portable case with an internal tray and a yellow latch. The contents include a large quantity of steel spanners, primarily open-ended and combination types, with some featuring the Gordon brand mark and Chrome Vanadium identification. Additional items within the kit include NGK spark plugs and packaging, a metal file, side-cutting pliers with insulated grips, and various sockets and scrapers.
