This volume is an 18th-century large-format English edition of the Holy Bible, bound in full leather over thick binder’s boards. The spine is constructed with five raised bands, creating six compartments, some of which feature gilt-stamped floral fleurons. A partially damaged gilt-stamped leather label on the spine reads HOLY BIBLE within a decorative scrolled border. The internal layout consists of two columns of biblical text accompanied by extensive scholarly annotations, footnotes, and an introductory summary or argument for each book. The typography utilises the long s throughout, a standard feature of 18th-century printing. The specific pages visible show the opening of the First Book of Moses, Called Genesis, with detailed commentary below the primary text.
