Lot 287: Mid-20th Century English Domed Metal Cabin Trunk
A mid-20th century cabin trunk of British manufacture, featuring a domed lid and constructed from riveted sheet metal with vertical and horizontal corrugated strengthening ribs. The exterior presents a heavily weathered, dark brown oxidised patina. The domed lid is detailed with rows of raised metal studs. To the front is a central cast-iron flip-down handle and latch component. The interior is finished in a contrasting vibrant red paint. An oval label on the interior front edge of the lid is marked WARRANTED and MADE IN ENGLAND, with the central maker name being illegible.
