Lot 308: A Pair of Weathered Cast Stone Garden Statues of Birds of Prey
A pair of garden statues depicting birds of prey, likely hawks or falcons, in a naturalistic figurative style. The figures are constructed from cast stone or reconstituted stone and are depicted in a perching position atop craggy, rock-form bases. Each bird is rendered with detailed feathering and talons. Visible mould seams are present, particularly down the backs and wings, indicating a casting production method. One statue retains a white rectangular auction lot label marked 108, and the second statue has a cardboard tag attached to the neck with a blue elasticated band.
