Lot 841: Early 20th Century Oak Drop-Side Baby Cot
An early 20th-century baby cot constructed from solid oak. The piece features an Edwardian-inspired design with vertical slatted sides and ends supported by four square-section corner posts. Each post is topped with a turned bun-style finial. The cot includes a functional drop-side mechanism with metal guides and latching hardware on one side. The base consists of a sprung woven-wire mesh, suspended by coil springs from the wooden frame. The oak retains its original finish with visible grain patterns. A small white adhesive tag with the printed numerals 841 is present on one side rail. Note: This item is sold as a decorative or collector’s piece and may not conform to modern safety regulations regarding slat spacing or lead paint composition.
