Lot 893: Victorian Pine Two Over Three Chest of Drawers
A provincial Victorian pine chest of drawers dating to the late 19th century. The chest features a traditional two over three configuration, consisting of two short drawers above three full-width graduated drawers. The piece is constructed from solid pine with an aged honey-coloured finish. The drawers are fitted with turned wooden mushroom knobs. Secondary timbers used for the drawer carcasses and bottoms are utilitarian softwood. The construction is typical of late 19th-century provincial furniture, featuring a simple rectangular form and integral supports. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are visible.
