A collection of multiple cloth-bound hardcover books, primarily featuring editions published by The Folio Society. The volumes are generally octavo in size and are bound in decorative cloth of various colours with gilt or printed titles and ornamentation. Featured authors and titles include Henry Fielding (Amelia), John Bunyan (The Pilgrim’s Progress), Thomas Hardy (Far from the Madding Crowd), Mark Twain (Huckleberry Finn), Balzac (Eugénie Grandet), Nancy Mitford (Love in a Cold Climate), and Lucius Apuleius (The Golden Ass, translated by Robert Graves). Other titles include Sappho by Daudet, Galley Slave, Restoration Carnival, Memoirs of Madame Du Barry, and The Best After-Dinner Stories. One volume is a red cloth-bound edition of works by Oscar Wilde featuring a gilt circular medallion. Several books are presented in their original publisher’s cardboard slipcases.
