Lot 924: A large Neoclassical style white-painted and parcel-gilt overmantel mirror
A large-scale overmantel mirror in the Neoclassical style. The frame is constructed from wood with applied composition ornamentation, finished in white paint with gilded highlights. The design features a stepped architectural pediment above a decorative frieze adorned with applied floral and ribbon swags. The central rectangular mirror plate is set within a gilded beaded inner border. Flanking the mirror are two side panels decorated with ribbon-and-trophy motifs. The frame is further defined by fluted pilasters at the outer edges, featuring gilded X-shaped cross-braces and ionic-style capitals. The style is consistent with late 19th or early 20th-century production in the Louis XVI revival manner. No maker’s marks or labels are visible.
