Lot 495: A Royal Ceramics Ringwood Pattern Porcelain Coffee Service
A Royal Ceramics porcelain coffee service decorated in the Ringwood pattern, number 791. The service features Mid-Century Modern forms, including a tall cylindrical coffee pot with a tapered spout and a D-shaped handle, a low cylindrical lidded sugar bowl, and a tapered milk jug. The set includes cups of cylindrical form with simple loop handles and matching wide-rimmed saucers. The decoration consists of a continuous transfer-printed geometric band with rectangular panels of stylized floral motifs in shades of ochre, orange, and brown, alternating with grey and black vertical striped panels. Gilt-line accents are applied to the rims of all pieces, and the lids for the coffee pot and sugar bowl feature a stylized gilt starburst motif on the central knobs.
