Lot 498: Hand-Knotted Shaggy Wool Berber Style Tribal Rug
A hand-knotted shaggy pile rug, featuring a design and construction consistent with Moroccan Berber or tribal-inspired styles. The rug is composed of a thick wool pile on a cotton foundation. The design features a neutral colour palette of cream and tan fields, divided by a wide, vertical charcoal-grey stripe. This central stripe is flanked by borders of small, serrated triangles in burnt orange and ochre tones. The main field is further decorated with scattered geometric motifs, including stacked diamond shapes and small triangles in grey and terracotta. The rug is finished with a knotted cream cotton fringe at the visible end. A white adhesive auction lot tag is present on the face of the rug with the text HCP Auctions South West, Lot 498.
