Lot 1009: Three Chinese Ink and Colour Framed Bird and Flower Paintings
A trio of Chinese paintings executed in ink and colour on silk, each depicting traditional Bird and Flower (Huaniao) motifs. The first painting illustrates white and yellow peonies growing beside a weathered scholar’s rock, animated by several butterflies and bees. It bears a horizontal inscription in black ink including the characters 先, 生, 雅, and 七十, followed by two red square seals. The second painting depicts a long-tailed bird perched upon a branch of pink hibiscus, with a signature and a single red seal in the lower right corner. The third painting shows two birds on a thorny branch with red blossoms. Each artwork is mounted with a patterned silk brocade border and presented in a gilded frame under glass.
