Lot 683: A Pair of 19th Century British Pewter Cider Jugs with Integral Strainers
A pair of cast pewter jugs of traditional British form. Each vessel features a tapering cylindrical body set on a flared and stepped base, with a heavy scroll handle. The spouts are designed with integral perforated internal strainers, suitable for liquids containing fruit or herbs. The exterior surfaces have a characteristic dull grey patina. No manufacturer marks or hallmarks are visible on the exterior surfaces of either piece. One jug bears two adhesive auction labels on the body.
