Lot 34: A Vintage Corgi Classics Esso Bedford S Type Elliptical Tanker
A vintage Corgi Classics Esso Bedford S Type Elliptical tanker, model number 20201, produced in a 1/50 scale. The model is constructed from die-cast metal with plastic components and finished in a vibrant red and white corporate livery. The cab and chassis are red, supporting an elliptical tank with a central white horizontal band featuring the printed text ESSO PETROLEUM COMPANY, LTD. in black. Fine detailing includes a rear-mounted ladder, a side-mounted spare wheel, and silver-tone headlight surrounds. The front license plate is printed with the registration TGJ 337 and the cab doors are embellished with a small crest. A small caution label on the side of the tank reads CAUTION HIGHLY FLAMMABLE. This lot is presented in its original pictorial card box with the internal clear plastic display tray and includes a printed limited edition certificate of authenticity. The certificate is numbered № 1546 of only 5900 produced. The box is clearly marked with the manufacturer name CORGI CLASSICS and the model number 20201 is printed in a black rectangle on the lower front corner.
