Lot 157: A Vintage Lledo Days Gone Die-cast Sentinel Steam Wagon
A vintage Lledo Days Gone die-cast Sentinel Steam Wagon, finished in a commercial livery for Blue Circle Portland Cement. The model is based on a 1935 Sentinel S6 steam wagon and is constructed with a die-cast metal body and a black plastic chassis. The bright yellow cab and flatbed carry a full simulated load of twenty-four tan-coloured cement sacks. The vehicle is detailed with crisp blue and white transfers including Blue Circle Portland Cement No 24 to the sides and The Cement Marketing Company Limited London to the cab doors, alongside a Victoria 9980 telephone number. The black plastic underside is moulded with the text Days Gone, Lledo PLC, Enfield, EN3 4ND, and Made in England. The model is presented in its original window box, though a green adhesive label on the end flap identifies the model as DG81000 1935 S6 Sentinel Steam Wagon Tarmac Limited, noting a box mismatch for the livery present.
