Lot 172: A Vintage Corgi Guy Arab London Transport Double-Decker Bus
A vintage Corgi Guy Arab London Transport double-decker bus, finished in traditional red and white livery with a brown roof. The model is of die-cast metal construction with plastic interior seating and translucent glazing. The exterior is decorated with period-accurate advertising transfers, including Black & White Scotch Whisky on a yellow ground to the sides and Picture Post Every Wednesday to the front and rear. The destination blind is printed for route 145 to Dagenham New Road, Woodford, and Ilford. The underside of the chassis is embossed with the block-lettered name CORGI. The front and rear registration plates are printed with the registration HGC 130. The model is presented in its original illustrated card box, which features the blue CORGI logo and descriptive text for the Guy Arab bus. A white polystyrene inner packing piece is present. A white paper adhesive label for HCP Auctions South West reading Lot 172 is attached to the top of the box.
