Lot 174: A Vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y-12 Baxters 1937 Dodge Airflow Van
A vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y-12 Baxters 1937 Dodge Airflow van, constructed with a die-cast metal body and chassis. The vehicle is finished in cream-coloured paint with dark green fenders and a matching green base. The sides of the van are decorated with advertising livery for Baxters of Scotland, featuring a stylized stag emblem set against a blue and green tartan background. Printed text on the sides reads Baxters SCOTTISH, FAMOUS FOR ROYAL GAME SOUP, and W.A. BAXTER & SONS LIMITED FOCHABERS SCOTLAND. The model includes a chrome-effect front bumper and radiator grille, with free-rolling wheels and a black interior. The green underside is moulded with literal marks including a rectangular MATCHBOX logo, MODELS OF YESTERYEAR, Y-12, MADE IN MACAU, and MATCHBOX INTL LTD. The model is accompanied by its original cardboard window box which features the MATCHBOX and MODELS OF YESTERYEAR branding.
