A vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear die-cast 1912 Ford Model T delivery van, produced by Lesney Products & Co Ltd. The vehicle features a dark blue body with a textured yellow plastic roof and red spoked wheels fitted with white-wall tyres. The sides are decorated with a colourful advertising livery for Bird’s Custard Powder, which includes the text ‘BIRD’S CUSTARD POWDER’, ‘MAKES THE RICHEST CUSTARD WITHOUT EGGS AT HALF THE COST & TROUBLE’, and ‘THE ORIGINAL & ONLY GENUINE Alfred Bird & Sons, BIRMINGHAM’. The van includes a black die-cast chassis, silver-painted radiator and headlamps, and a clear plastic windshield. Centrally cast to the base plate are the characters ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’, ‘MATCHBOX’, ‘MODELS OF YESTERYEAR’, ‘1912 FORD MODEL T’, ‘© 1978’, and ‘LESNEY PRODUCTS & CO LTD’. The original gold window display box is included, featuring a model identification tab reading ‘Y-12 1912 FORD T’.
