Lot 106: Antique Ribbed Buff Clay Chimney Pot
An antique ribbed buff clay chimney pot of tapered cylindrical form, featuring three prominent raised horizontal bands around the main body. The piece is finished with a heavy, rounded overhanging collar rim and a flared base, characteristic of late 19th-century architectural terracotta. The exterior exhibits a deep natural patina with extensive green moss and lichen encrustation, particularly concentrated around the ribs and collar. A white rectangular adhesive label is affixed to the upper rim, which reads HCP Auctions South West, Lot 106, and www.hcpauctions.net. The interior currently contains a nested assortment of plastic plant pots in varying shades of terracotta, brown, and black. No other maker marks or stamps are visible on the clay body.
