Lot 183: A Vintage American PRO Red Steel Four-Drawer Portable Tool Chest
A vintage American PRO red steel four-drawer portable tool chest, featuring a top compartment and four drawers of equal height. The unit is constructed from sheet steel with a red painted finish and features full-width silver-toned pull handles on each drawer. The top lid opens on two rear hinges to reveal a shallow storage area. The chest is equipped with a central keyed tumbler lock and two metal drop handles on the sides for manual transport. A rectangular adhesive label on the lower-left front panel features a five-pointed star followed by the words ‘American PRO’ in a blue and red block-style font. Stamped into the metal at the lower centre of the back panel are the characters ‘MADE IN USA’. A single key is present in the lock, with the characters ‘K2’ followed by an illegible character stamped on the head. The top lid bears a white handwritten sticker reading ‘1080’ and a printed lot sticker from HCP Auctions South West for ‘Lot 183’.
