The collapsible field stretcher comprises two longitudinal rails constructed from dark-stained wood, featuring metal hinge mechanisms and clips to facilitate folding. The bed is formed from a single large sheet of heavy-duty khaki-coloured cotton canvas, designed with stitched longitudinal sleeves to accommodate the wooden poles. The set includes two rectangular quilted padding mats, constructed in a traditional futon style with parallel vertical stitching to secure an internal organic fibre stuffing, likely cotton or kapok. These mats are equipped with canvas tie-tapes for securing them when rolled.
