Lot 313: A Pair of Vintage Iron and Galvanised Metal Wall-Mounted Planters
A pair of vintage iron and galvanised metal wall-mounted planters, of semi-circular hayrack form. The set consists of one iron planter with a black-painted finish and one planter in a grey galvanised finish, both featuring cage-like constructions of welded metal ribs. Each unit is surmounted by a straight mounting rail embellished with decorative scrollwork and includes a dark-coloured fibrous liner designed for garden use. A white rectangular paper tag is tied to the upper rail of the black planter, bearing the handwritten characters ‘5803’ and ‘WALL BASKETS’ in black ink. A white adhesive auction label is also present on the same planter, which reads ‘Lot 313’, ‘HCP Auctions South West’, and ‘www.hcpauctions.net’. No manufacturer’s marks, stamps, or foundry signatures are visible on the metalwork of either piece.
