Lot 371: Two Vintage Metal and Glass Pendant Lanterns
Two vintage metal and glass pendant lanterns of differing designs. The first lantern is of rectangular form with a dark-toned patinated metal frame housing textured glass panels, the front face decorated with a leaded geometric motif. It is fitted with a white electrical flex and a modern white plastic ceiling rose. An adhesive white auction tag is attached to the flex, reading HCP Auctions South West, Lot 371, www.hcpauctions.co.uk. The second lantern is of hexagonal form with a bright-finished metal frame, possibly chrome or nickel-plated, and clear glass panels. The upper section tapers to a circular hanging loop. A small white label is visible internally through the glass, bearing the word CARE in black capital letters; the remaining text is not legible. Both fixtures retain electrical wiring and lamp holders but are untested; professional inspection and potentially rewiring by a qualified electrician is required to meet current safety standards.
