Lot 417: A Vintage Wicker and Rattan Picnic Hamper / Suitcase
A vintage wicker and rattan picnic hamper / suitcase, constructed with a dark brown lattice weave over a light-coloured wooden-slatted frame. The rectangular case features coiled rattan sides and a matching handle, which is attached via brown leather-style mounts and metal rivets. The interior is lined with a blue and white chequered gingham fabric, fitted with various metal snap fasteners and fabric straps designed to secure plates and cutlery. A blue paper adhesive label is affixed to the exterior lid, bearing the handwritten and printed characters ‘Lot 417’; no manufacturer labels or stamps are visible to the interior or exterior.
