A vintage peacock pattern velvet wall hanging, featuring a vibrant pictorial scene machine-woven into a plush pile fabric. The central motif depicts a peacock in profile with a decorative crest, a green-tinted body, and a red and black patterned wing. The bird is situated within a stylized landscape consisting of a gnarled tree trunk to the left, flowering shrubs in the foreground, and a classical building with a balustrade in the distance. The upper third of the tapestry is a plain field of deep blue velvet. The scene is enclosed by a repeating geometric and foliate border in shades of orange, olive green, and black. An adhesive white label is present on the upper blue section, printed with H&F Auctions South Wales and Lot 473; no manufacturer’s marks or signatures are visible on the front.
