Lot 485: A Set of Nine Vintage Clear Glass Balloon Wine Glasses
A set of nine vintage clear glass balloon wine glasses. Each piece is constructed with a large, rounded bowl narrowing slightly at the rim, supported by a short, thick-stemmed pillar on a wide circular foot. The glass is plain and undecorated, focusing on the classic balloon form typically used for red wine or brandy. The underside of the foot on each glass bears a circular acid-etched mark; however, the characters and symbols within these marks are not legible and cannot be identified as a specific maker.
