Lot 494: A Collection of Vintage and Antique Ceramic and Glass Tablewares
A collection of vintage and antique ceramic and glass tablewares, comprising a variety of domestic and decorative items. The collection features a large lidded tureen and matching oval platter in a traditional blue and white transfer-printed oriental landscape pattern. These earthenware pieces are decorated with cobalt blue scenes of buildings, bridges, and floral borders. Included is a piece of Portmeirion pottery, bearing a printed black circular backstamp reading MAGIC CITY, DESIGNED BY SUSAN WILLIAMS-ELLIS, PORTMEIRION POTTERY, Stoke-on-Trent, MADE IN ENGLAND. The lot further includes a miniature teapot and small vessel decorated with hand-painted floral enamels in vibrant orange, blue, and pink with gilded rims, alongside a white porcelain teacup with a sunflower motif and a polka-dot patterned jug. The glassware consists of three clear glass tumblers housed in ornate silver-toned metal filigree holders with integral handles; one glass base features a moulded circular mark reading MADE IN ENGLAND. Miscellaneous items include a fragment of a wooden child’s toy, an embroidered textile, and a white plastic electrical adapter.
