Lot 496: A Vintage Silver-plated Triple Folding Biscuit Stand / Cake Stand
A vintage silver-plated triple folding biscuit stand / cake stand, of characteristic tiered form with a central vertical support. The stand is constructed with a mechanical folding system that allows the three circular plates to deploy horizontally or collapse for compact storage. It is topped by a textured, arched swing handle and supported by a weighted, stepped circular pedestal base. Each plate is embellished with an intricate reticulated border composed of scrolling foliate and floral motifs. The central field of each plate displays chased decoration, featuring a central medallion surrounded by delicate foliate patterns. No maker’s marks, hallmarks, or manufacturer labels are visible on the base or the undersides of the plates; a small, white adhesive label is present on the underside of one plate but the text is not legible.
