Lot 983: A Pair of Vintage Mid-Century Mahogany Bow-Fronted Nightstands
A pair of vintage mid-century mahogany bow-fronted nightstands, each featuring a three-tier configuration. The uppermost tier consists of a small shelf with a low-profile three-sided gallery, supported by slender turned spindles. The middle section provides a main top surface positioned over a single bow-fronted drawer, which is fitted with two circular, brass-toned ring-pull handles. The lower section includes two further open, curved shelves integrated into solid side panels that terminate in bracket feet. The pieces are finished in a dark mahogany veneer showing horizontal grain throughout. A white rectangular adhesive tag is present on the top shelf of the right-hand unit bearing the printed number 983. Multiple circular pink stickers are present on both units, each bearing the number 32. No manufacturer marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the exterior surfaces.

Condition report:
Both nightstands are in a well-used condition and are currently covered in a layer of surface dust (photo 1). General surface scratches and minor indentations are visible on the horizontal surfaces, consistent with age and use (photo 1). Significant wear and finish loss is evident along the front edges of the lower shelves and the bracket feet (photo 1). Minor chips to the veneer are visible on the lower-right front corner of the left-hand unit (photo 1). The metal ring-pull hardware shows signs of light oxidation and tarnishing (photo 2).
