Lot 985: An Edwardian Mahogany Three-Tier Folding Cake Stand
An Edwardian mahogany three-tier folding cake stand, constructed with a solid mahogany frame featuring an arched handle and splayed, curved feet. The stand comprises three circular mahogany tiers, each with a moulded rim and a decorative cast metal rosette boss to the centre. The tiers are hinged to the uprights by a metal mechanism, enabling the stand to be folded flat for storage. The frame includes horizontal supports and a metal linkage for the folding action. A white rectangular label is attached to the top tier reading HCP Auctions South West and Lot 985, alongside a smaller blue and white label with the handwritten number 13. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible.

The item is in good, functional condition with signs of age and use. There is a light layer of surface dust and grime across the wooden and metal components.
