Lot 531: A Vintage Bates Brass of Birmingham Hurricane Lamp and Floral Globe
A vintage Bates Brass of Birmingham hurricane lamp and a decorative floral globe. The hurricane lamp is constructed with a weighted brass base, exhibiting a hand-polished and lacquered finish, paired with an amber-tinted glass shade. The shade features a distinctive crimped rim and is decorated with a white floral transfer-printed design. To the green felted underside of the lamp base is a rectangular gold foil adhesive label which reads ‘Bates Brass of Birmingham’, ‘QUALITY BRASS HAND POLISHED’, ‘AND LACQUERED’, ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’. The accompanying item is a decorative clear glass sphere containing three pink artificial roses with green foliage, set into a black circular base.
