Lot 533: A Vintage Pink Glazed Earthenware Pig-Shaped Biscuit Jar
A vintage pink glazed earthenware pig-shaped biscuit jar, modelled as a stylized seated pig where the head serves as a detachable lid. The vessel is finished in a uniform high-gloss pale pink glaze. The facial features include large black painted eyes with white highlights and a protruding snout with two black painted nostrils. The body of the jar features moulded contours representing the pig’s legs and form. A white rectangular adhesive auction label is adhered to the side, reading ‘HCP Auctions South West / Lot 533 / www.hcpauctions.net’. A small, torn white paper tag is attached near the neck area with illegible handwritten characters in black ink. The interior of the jar is fully glazed in a matching pale pink colour. No manufacturer or factory marks are visible on the exterior or the interior surfaces shown.
