Lot 573: Two Vintage Marigold Iridescent Pressed Glass Bowls
Two vintage marigold iridescent pressed glass bowls, dating from the early 20th century. The first bowl features a deeply ruffled and crimped rim, with the interior decorated in a relief-moulded pattern of holly leaves and berries arranged in a wreath around a central multi-petalled rosette. The second bowl is fashioned with a three-in-one lobed rim, featuring a central spray of pansy blossoms and foliage on a stippled ground within a border of vertical bars. Both pieces exhibit a marigold iridescent lustre over a clear glass base, showing vibrant pink, green, and gold oil-slick highlights. The bowls are supported by collar bases showing relief-moulded patterns from the production process; no makers’ marks, signatures, or alphanumeric characters are legible on either piece.
Bowl Dimensions: approx. 18 – 20 cm in diameter.
