Lot 1049: A Vintage Industrial Grey Metal and Wood Seat Side Chair
A vintage industrial grey metal and wood seat side chair, featuring a mixed-material construction typical of mid-20th century workshop or cafe furniture. The chair is designed with a tubular metal frame including a wrap-around backrest that transitions into a central vertical splat back and continues down to form the rear legs. The seat is constructed from a single piece of light-coloured solid wood, possibly ash or oak, showing a prominent natural grain and a contoured surface for comfort. The front and rear legs are made of stamped metal and splay outwards in a characteristic industrial style. No maker’s marks, stamps, or brand labels are present on the frame or timber. Two temporary white adhesive labels are attached to the central splat: a larger rectangular label with the handwritten number 5766 in black ink, and a smaller rectangular label with the printed text Lot 1049.

The chair shows signs of moderate use and wear consistent with an industrial aesthetic.
