Lot 636: A Collection of Vintage 1970s Paper Adult and Humour Magazines
A collection of vintage 1970s paper adult and humour magazines, comprising various titles including Mayfair, Lovebirds, Man’s Pleasure, and Private Collection. The publications are printed on a mix of glossy and matte paper stocks, typical of the period’s men’s interest genre. An issue of Mayfair (Vol. 6, No. 8) features sand-themed glamour photography and incorporates King magazine. Private Collection (Vol. 2, No. 3) contains photographic art with a circular cover inset, alongside editorial content involving Jane Fonda and Jack De Manio. Lovebirds (Number 26) is headlined as Every Girl an English Rose and features the performer Mary Millington. Also included is a June issue of Man’s Pleasure and a copy of Cartoons magazine. The magazines bear original cover prices in UK decimal and international formats. Condition report:
The collection shows signs of age-related wear including surface rubbing and creasing to the covers (photos 2, 3, and 4). There is visible oxidation to the staples on several issues. Minor chipping and small tears are present along the paper edges (photo 2). Compression marks from the rubber band are visible to the outer covers (photo 1). The interior pages have not been fully inspected but appear consistent with the external condition.
