Lot 653: A Vintage BCE Custom Cues Jimmy White Signature Ash 3/4 Jointed Snooker Cue
A vintage BCE Custom Cues Jimmy White signature ash 3/4 jointed snooker cue. The piece is constructed with a straight-grained ash shaft which tapers to a fine tip, joined to the butt section via a brass screw-thread joint located at the three-quarter position. The butt is composed of hand-spliced dark wood, displaying a black lacquered finish with visible natural wood grain in the contrast splices. Above the lower section, the cue is embellished with a gold-toned script signature reading ‘Jimmy White’, followed by a decorative gold band inscribed with the text ‘BCE CUSTOM CUES’ in capital letters. The base of the butt features a flat section housing a circular inset metal badge; the markings on this badge are not legible. The shaft displays a characteristic ash grain pattern with dark arrows pointing towards the tip.
Condition report:
The cue shows visible signs of regular use and age. There are multiple surface scuffs and scratches throughout the black finish on the butt section (photo 2). Several small nicks and indentations are present across the wooden surfaces of both the shaft and the butt (photo 1). The brass joint appears intact but shows typical tarnishing consistent with age. No major splits or structural failures are visible in the photographs provided.
