Lot 666: A Collection of Vintage Britains Plastic Toy Soldiers
A collection of approximately 14 vintage Britains plastic toy soldiers, depicting various British military regiments. The group includes Grenadier Guards in traditional scarlet tunics and black bearskin hats, alongside colonial infantry figures dressed in dark blue tunics with white pith helmets. The assortment features several figures in marching poses as well as military musicians, including drummers and buglers. Each figure is moulded from plastic and is permanently attached to an integral rectangular green base. One base is clearly marked on the underside with the embossed lettering ENGLAND and BRITAINS. The figures are housed in a non-original plain blue and white cardboard box.
Condition report:
The figures are in a played-with condition showing significant signs of age and wear. Notable paint chipping and loss is evident across most of the figures, particularly on the red tunics of the guardsmen and the white pith helmets of the infantry (photo 1 and 2). The collection is dusty and shows visible cobwebs from long-term storage (photo 1). No major structural breaks or missing limbs are immediately apparent, though fine details such as rifle barrels and drum sticks show signs of surface wear and slight bending.
