Lot 694: A Collection of Vintage Nao, Goebel Hummel, and Meissen Porcelain and Ceramic Wares
A collection of vintage porcelain and ceramic wares, comprising figures by Nao and Goebel Hummel, a Meissen commemorative medallion, and a Mason’s wall pocket. The group features a large Nao glazed porcelain figurine of a woman in an upright pose, wearing a flowing pale blue and white gown and holding a fan against her chest. Also by Nao is a smaller white glazed porcelain figure of a duck, depicted with its neck curved back. The Goebel Hummel items include a polychrome ceramic Night Watchman figurine, carrying a staff and lantern, alongside a second figure of a girl seated in a tree. The lot includes a white bisque porcelain circular medallion commemorating the physician Galen. The obverse displays a relief profile portrait of a bearded man facing right, under the text GALEN 129-199, while the reverse shows a relief architectural scene with small figures. The reverse of the plaque bears an underglaze blue mark consisting of two straight lines that cross each other to form an X shape. A ceramic wall pocket included in the lot is decorated with a floral pattern in the Mason’s Ironstone style. A handwritten adhesive lot tag identifies the pieces as Nao, Hummel Goebel, Meisson, and Mason’s.
Condition report:
The large Nao figurine shows some minor surface marks and light staining on the lower front of the skirt (photo 1). The bisque surface of the Meissen medallion shows light handling marks and minor surface dust (photo 2). From the provided images, there are no obvious chips, cracks, or professional repairs visible to the primary figurines, though buyers are advised to inspect delicate areas such as the fan edges and tree branches. The items appear to be in good displayable condition overall.
