Lot 726: A Vintage The Times Atlas of the World Concise Edition (DJ)
A vintage The Times Atlas of the World Concise Edition, bound in dark blue publisher’s cloth boards with bright gilt-stamped lettering and a heraldic crest to the front. The volume is presented in its original copper-coloured pictorial dust jacket, featuring a central circular relief map of the Earth. The dust jacket bears two contemporary adhesive labels: a white rectangular label inscribed ‘1080’ in blue ink and a square white label printed with ‘Lot 726’. This large-format cartographic work is a concise version of the renowned Times comprehensive atlas series, known for its detailed mapping and geographic accuracy. The binding beneath the jacket is clean and well-preserved.
Condition report:
The copper-coloured dust jacket exhibits minor edge wear and light surface scuffing to the front panel (photo 1). There are two contemporary adhesive auction labels present on the front of the dust jacket (photo 1). The underlying dark blue cloth binding and gilt-stamped lettering remain in very good, bright condition (photo 2). Internal pages and the spine were not visible for inspection.
