A collection of vintage blue and white transfer-printed ceramic wares, comprising a selection of functional and decorative items. The group includes three circular plates featuring a central blue transfer-printed Dutch architectural scene of a twin-towered gatehouse and bridge, with the word ‘Delft’ printed vertically in blue on the upper surface (photo 1). A large circular bowl is decorated with a central blue stylized floral sprig and an inner rim decorated with a repeating blue geometric border (photo 3). Also included is a small circular bowl or saucer featuring a classic ‘Blue Willow’ pattern depicting pagodas, trees, and birds within an ornate border (photo 4). A coordinated coaster set consists of six circular ceramic coasters and a matching U-shaped ceramic holder, all resting on a saucer and decorated with blue windmill and landscape scenes. The collection is completed by a small cream-bodied earthenware vase with a wide, flared rim, decorated with simple blue silhouettes of sailboats and birds (photo 4). One saucer bears a small white adhesive label with the numeral ’13’ (photo 4).
Condition report:
Several small chips are visible on the rim of the small Blue Willow bowl (photo 4). A dark firing inclusion or speck is visible in the well of the large circular bowl (photo 3). The items show general signs of light surface wear and minor production imperfections consistent with age and use. No significant cracks or professional repairs are visible.
