Lot 762: A Vintage Oneida Craft Stainless Steel Cased Flatware Service
A vintage Oneida Craft stainless steel cased flatware service, decorated in a stylised rose pattern with single floral motifs to the brushed-finish handles. The service provides for multiple place settings and includes table knives, dessert knives, dinner forks, dessert forks, and spoons. The knife blades are stamped with the manufacturer’s name ‘ONEIDA’ and ‘ONEIDA SILVERSMITHS STAINLESS’. The pieces are contained within a wood-effect presentation canteen featuring a hinged lid and an orange flocked interior with a small silver-toned plaque marked ‘FLEXFIT’. A printed paper guarantee included in the lot is headed ‘Oneida CRAFT’ and identifies the manufacturer as ‘Oneida Silversmiths Limited, Bangor, Co. Down, Northern Ireland’. The set also contains one non-matching ornate spoon with a floral-relief handle.
Condition report:
The set is in used condition. Individual pieces show surface scratches and signs of wear consistent with age and use (photo 1). There is noticeable tarnish and water spotting visible on several of the spoons (photo 1). The canteen\'s interior is currently disorganized and the exterior shows minor scuffing to the corners and edges (photo 1). One non-matching spoon is present (photo 1).
