Lot 941: A Mid-Century Nathan Furniture Teak Squares Sideboard
A mid-century Nathan Furniture teak squares sideboard, characteristic of British furniture design from the 1970s. The unit features an upper section with four drawers arranged in two banks of two, each fitted with a circular turned wood knob handle. The lower section consists of two cupboard doors, each decorated with the manufacturer’s signature recessed nine-panel grid design, synonymous with the Squares or Classic range. The doors include integrated finger-pull handles along the top edges. The construction consists of teak veneers over a composite wood core. No maker’s labels or stamps are visible on the exterior of the piece.

Condition report:
The sideboard shows signs of age and regular use throughout. There are visible surface scratches and scuff marks, particularly along the top front edges and corners (photo 1). The finish appears slightly dull in some areas, and there is light debris accumulated on the lower frame and floor surrounding the piece. The structural integrity appears sound with all drawers and doors aligned.
