A collection of vintage vinyl LPs and singles, primarily spanning the soul-jazz and pop genres of the 1970s and 1980s. The lot features a copy of the soul-jazz album Woga by Charles Kynard, housed in a white cardboard sleeve printed with the artist’s name ‘charles kynard’ and the album title ‘woga’. The upper right corner of the jacket bears the printed label and catalogue number ‘MSL 1009’. Also visible within the stacks is a 12-inch single sleeve for the song ‘EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD’, along with an album partially titled ‘Make the party…’. The collection includes a brown paper mailing envelope addressed to ‘Ms Margaret Thornley, Plymouth Sound, Earl’s Acre, Alma Road, Plymouth, PL3 4EL’, featuring various handwritten annotations including ‘TONY BENNET’ and ‘Julia Morton Gardens, Mannamead’. The lot is arranged in two stacks and contains approximately 30 to 40 items in total. A white adhesive auction label reading ‘HCP Auctions South West Lot 942′ is present on the primary sleeve, along with a handwritten price tag of ’32’.


Condition report:

The record sleeves show varying degrees of age-related wear, generally graded as Good Plus (G+) to Very Good (VG). The Charles Kynard jacket exhibits visible ring wear, surface scuffing, and minor bumping to the corners and edges (photo 1). The mailing envelope is heavily creased with significant surface wear and multiple ink annotations (photo 1). Several other sleeves in the stacks show shelf wear and minor creasing to the outer edges. The vinyl media discs have not been removed from their sleeves and remain uninspected for condition, scratches, or playback quality.
